Although I have not been reporting all my food intake. I have been doing fairly well, eating several times a day, comsuming fewer calories and less sugar. I wish I could say I have elimintated it altogether but I haven’t. Maybe one day soon. I am definitely feeling better stomach wise, less heartburn. Yeah! I am not sure if I am consuming few enough calories. If I can ever find time or make journaling food a priority I am sure that will tell me how I am doing. In the meantime I feel better about my eating habits and positive thoughts about food.

I’m Back August 3, 2008
Breakfast: 1 homemade, who grain waffle, a little bit a syrup, coffee and a soy sausage or as we call it “soysage”
The past two days have been so full of activity I have not really had time to think about eating. Friday was good up until dinner. I had planned to make that my free meal. Although I would have rather used that for a nice dinner out with Dave, it was a delicious taco bar made by my friend Debbie for a student ministry house party. I did have a couple of brownies and cookies with dinner and did not feel so good afterward. I guess because I had not had sugar for a while. Yesterday I went to Wannado City with my nephew and friend Ivanna and her kids. We had a great time. We went to Ikea before hand and had lunch in the cafeteria. I did good there too, I had a small great salad, small bowl of chicken soup and 1/2 of a dinner roll. Breakfast was OK too. But about mid afternoon, my stomach was growling and the only thing in sight was a leftover chicken finger from Lance’s lunch, which I consumed on our way to Wannado. A cold chicken finger. I could have planned better.
Anyway, I am back in the saddle today. I still have not figured out a good way to have my yummy homemade waffles w/o syrup. I try to make them as healthy as possible using oatbran, buckwheat, oatmeal some white flour and canola oil. But they are just not complete w/o real maple syrup.
This afternoon we are going to Dave’s parent’s house for lunch which is always a healthy experience and I am not being sarcastic. Everything my mother-in-law serves is very low fat, whole grain, fresh and healthy. I just need to limit the amount of pasta.
July 31, 2008
Breakfast – (260) 1 light English muffin, 1 tbs peanut butter, 1 cup papaya and cherries
Snack – nothing – boo-hoo
Lunch – (309) Salad with two slices of chicken, Catalina dressing, 1/2 avocado, 1 cup cherries
Snack – (125) cottage cheese, a few nuts
Dinner – (450) Bean and pasta soup, French twist and milk
Total Calories – 1144
I resisted the homemade snickerdoodles that someone brought it today but I did seriously think about having one. I am glad I didn’t have one. Also, I wanted to go out to dinner tonight and share a hamburger with Dave because I was just wiped out and did not want to cook. Dave was not feeling well and really did not want to go anywhere. Thankfully I had a can of soup beans and I was able to easily pull together and healthy and very fiber filled dinner.
